In 1982, The Seville Trio, the first musical ensemble of what is now Music in the Air was born. This ensemble remains the most frequently booked group, due in part to the tremendous repertoire for the combination of instruments (flute-violin-cello).

Other ensembles followed:

  • The Heights Quartet (flute-violin-viola-cello)
  • White Tie & Tails (flute-piano-cello)
  • The Embassy Quartet (2 violins-viola-cello)
  • Two for Tea (flute-cello)
  • Brassworks (trumpets-trombones)

Eventually, these ensembles merged creating Music in the Air, which in turn provided the flexibility to present ensembles of almost any instrumental combination.

Music in the Air provides music for all special events, both corporate and private.

We have performed in virtually every major venue in New York City including the major hotels, Lincoln Center, Exxon Park, Macy's, Lord & Taylor, the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, and have appeared on Manhattan Cable Television.

Music in the Air is unique in that its owner, Daničle Doctorow, is a professional musician. Ms. Doctorow, a cellist, has performed at all the major concert halls in New York City, toured with the NYC Opera National Company, founded the Lexington Chamber Music Society and was its director for five years.

As both a musician and business owner, Ms. Doctorow can provide the most knowledgeable, personal and professional service to her clients.

To fulfill Music in the Air's goal of becoming the comprehensive source of live music for our clients, we have added several jazz ensembles to our roster. Again, the emphasis is on the successful combination of musical expertise and high level of client service.

As it continues to grow and prosper, Music in the Air remains dedicated to providing the best musicians in New York City for any occasion and the highest level of commitment to a job well done.
